The Teacher

Foto-pedagog-1Dalibor Cikojević began working as a teacher at the School of Music Edlitz-Grimmenstein in Austria, after completion of studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Performing Arts (concert direction, the class of Alexander Jenner). Parallelly with his first working experience in education, he completed the two-year college degree in instrumental pedagogy (IGP) in the class of Carmen Graf-Adnet. After that, he was a lecturer (Lehrbeauftragter) at Universität für Musik in Vienna, the Institute Anton Bruckner, and then returned to Croatia where he began working as an Assistant Professor of piano at the Music Academy of Zagreb. Since 2007 he has been an Associate Professor and Assistant Dean for International Cooperation.

Ten students graduated in his class, many of whom are award winners in national and international competitions.

He edited music editions of Papandopulo’s «Osam studija» («Eight Studies») and «Deset impresija» («Ten Impressions»), «Phantasie Concertante» by Dora Pejačević and «Piano Concert» by Božidar Kunc, all published by the Music Information Center. He is the member of the juries of national and international piano competitions, and for many years has been giving summer seminars at the International Summer School of Music in Pučišća on the island of Brač.

On the occasion of 200th anniversary of the birth of Frédéric Chopin, he designed and made a project called “24 hours of Chopin,” in which many musicians, such as 130 pianists and other musicians from Croatian elementary and high musical schools, as well as former and current students and professors of the Academy of Music – were playing Chopin Music at the Croatian Music Institute all day and night, celebrating this great anniversary in a very unique way.
